Bruno Testori (Luca Zingaretti) runs San Michele Prison, which is under his authority, in the manner of an absolutist ruler—with rules that are independent of the law. Outside the prison walls, however, his life is far less orderly. When he is in danger of losing his power over San Michele, he starts a war.
